| The ISIS Team set out to investigate a home in Colonie, New York after receiving complaints of paranormal activity made by a female client living in the location. Dayna, Patricia, Justyn, Lauren, Erin, Reuben, Angela, and Matthew arrived at the location on July 2006, to conduct a complete investigation into the complaints posed by the client. Upon our arrival, team historian Lauren Ouellette began an interview with the woman and her boyfriend about the events that were troubling them. Reports include the feeling of being watched; being touched by an unseen force; seeing apparitions in the location; strange noises and banging that has no explanation for its cause; objects turn up missing and are found in unusual locations, the household pet has been noted to behave in an unusual manner, and the female client has reported seeing an apparition at the location on more than one occasion. The location is estimated to be 50-60 years old, according to the client. There is only one previous owner of the location, a couple who both died at the location within months of each other. The house itself consists of a living room, kitchen, dining room, basement, attic, bathroom, guest room, and master bedroom and the entire home has undergone extensive renovations. The dining room was once a bedroom, the walls have been painted and the flooring has undergone extensive repair. The client reports that no activity occurred immediately after the renovation, however activity has occurred within the past year. The female client has Roman Catholic religious affiliations, but is not practicing the religion at this time. Meanwhile, the female's boyfriend is a practicing Wiccan and holds a solid interest in all things related to the occult. The female client has displayed prior interest in the occult, but the interest is minimal; the client likes to have to have tarot readings conducted, likes to visit psychics from time to time, and she has a keen interest in astrology. Occasionally, she will read books pertaining to such subjects. No clergy has been contacted about the events at the location and the house has never been blessed. Along the same lines, no other groups have ever been called in to investigate the location and there has been no prior media involved in the case. The client reports having lived at the location for a period of four years and also reports that the activity began approximately one year ago. Besides the client and her boyfriend, there are other witnesses to the events that are reported at the site. Both the client's mother and a female friend have reported seeing and hearing strange activity. The client's mother was visiting right around the Christmas holiday. The client states that she was at her boyfriend's house when the mother called her screaming. She was terrified because their was extremely loud banging coming from the kitchen area of the home for no reason whatsoever. While visiting, the mother refused to sleep in the guest room of the location and slept on the couch in the living room. Finally, the client had bought three bottles of wine for her friend for Christmas. The bottles of wine tipped over on the counter, all at the same time, for no reason. The client's pet has also been affected by the events that occur-the cat has been seen howling and growling at the ceiling in the guest room when seemingly nothing was there. The cat will also growl at the entryway to the master bedroom. On occasion, the animal will also refuse to enter certain rooms of the home. The client's boyfriend reports an event in the living room-when the client was showing him pictures of what the house looked like before renovation, the boyfriend felt a strange draft and noticed that the doorway leading to the attic was halfway open. There was no reason for the door being open, and upon examining the door, our team determined that the door cannot open without some kind of aid. The client has reported smelling the scent of burnt wood on occasion-sometimes it is very strong and sometimes it is mild. It should be mentioned at this junction that the home does have a working fireplace and there is cause to question whether or not the scent is coming from a natural draft, or if the smell is from another origin. The client does however; report that the strong scent appears when there is no fire in the fireplace at the time. The client also reports smelling perfume that is not her own, a perfume that smelled much like the brand her grandmother wore. Around Christmas of 2005, the female client reports seeing a male apparition walk from her bathroom into her bedroom. While describing him as tall and thin with a dark beard, the client recalls the figure as being smokey and transparent in appearance. The client also revealed that she would not sleep in her bedroom that night for fear of what might happen. Also, during another occurrence, the client has seen an apparition walk from the living room into the bathroom of the location. Along the same lines, the client stated that one evening, while in bed with her boyfriend, she turned to look at him only to see the face of the apparition she had seen at Christmas time. The client immediately left the bedroom to clear her thoughts-later, still groggy; she returned to bed and wrote off the incident to a waking dream or to "seeing things." The client's boyfriend reports seeing a face in the attic window while he was standing outside the location one evening; this event prompted him to go up to the attic to investigate. When he arrived in the attic, of course, there was nothing present to explain what he saw. The female client reports entering the attic and feeling as if something had touched her thigh, stating: "it brushed along the side of my leg and my thigh." The client then revealed that a similar instance occurred moments before our arrival; she was folding napkins at the table when she felt something rubbed the side of her calf and tapped the side of her thigh. The client explained that several items turn up in strange locations. At one point, the client discovered the vacuum cleaner filter in the kitchen stove. The client does not store things in the oven when it is not in use and the client, who had preheated the oven, opened the oven to put food in it only to discover the filter inside, melting to the rack. The client reports repeated nightmares, she wakes up remembering that she has had bad dreams but she cannot recall the specifics of such dreams. She has woken up in a cold sweat and feeling panicked. There have been unusual temperature fluctuations noted at the location. The home has central air, but the master bedroom is always hotter then what the central air temperature is set for. No other unusual temperature fluctuations have been reported by the client. The client experiences numerous electrical problems at the location. In fact, she reports that there is a power outage almost every other day at the home. Whenever she returns home from work, she will find all of the digital clocks flashing-indicting that the power had gone out while she was out of the house. A separate encounter: The female client reported to our investigator that she had a separate paranormal experience when she was younger while taking photographs of a band in Oakwood Cemetery. The client reports taking a photo of a statue that had no arms, but when the photo was reviewed the picture revealed arms on the statue and there was also a spirit-like head that could be seen in the bushes. She reports that she cannot find the photos now. The client's boyfriend has had numerous paranormal experiences throughout his life and it is what has led to his interest in the occult. Given the above reports, the client and her boyfriend are apparently no strangers to paranormal activity. The Investigation Process: During the process of investigation, the EMF detector failed to work at all in the first level of the home. Even with new batteries, resetting the tool, and with tests conducted near appliances known to produce high EMF waves, the detector failed to work on the first floor of the location. Conversely, while on the basement stairs the EMF detector started to work and the gauge was literally off the readable scale. Also, while taking pictures of the EMF detector while this unusual reading appeared, one picture came out perfectly fine, while another picture was almost completely "whited out" without explanation. Photos: We managed one successful ITC Photograph during the investigation, revealing a face of a male appearing on the television screen. During the process of analysis, a series of digital photos taken revealed a black figure moving across the upstairs attic. Six photos, when viewed in consecutive order show a black figure moving across the attic and out of the camera's view. We have placed the photos in a video format so that the shadow figure can be examined. We have strung the images together in a video format for viewing. Please note: this IS NOT a video capture, but they are photos that have been entered into a video application. Finally, another photo reveals the image of a face near the basement sink. A photo in the basement revealed a black anomaly that has no explanation whatsoever. Also, on the basement stairs, the EMF detector started working. Two photos were taking during the incident-one which revealed no strange activity and one picture turned almost all white. EVPs: Several EVPs were captured at the location of men, women, and children. It is important to note that there were no children at the location during the interview process. One evp reveals a strange growling sound that appears after questioning. Odd Temperature Fluctuations: A significant temperature spike was noted in the basement of the location-from 67 degrees to 73.7, without any source for the temperature's change. Experiences of the Investigators: One of the investigators experienced vertigo twice within an hour time frame of being on location; there is no explanation as to why the investigator felt this sensation because they were not in an elevated location at the time the feeling occurred. Another investigator noted an unexplained noise in the basement, with no known cause. On various occasions, several investigators had difficulty with equipment-two investigators experienced difficulty when a camera failed to take a picture at all, and one investigator had difficulty with a camera in the attic where the shadow figure was captured; the camera, being on auto focus, struggled to focus on the area in which the shadow was captured. Further, while the interview with the client was taped, the tape recorded stopped on its own, unaided, even though there was plenty of tape left to record. All investigators agree that the basement seemed oppressive when they first entered it and that the basement had unusual energies. Conclusion: Location Haunted. The location was deemed haunted by our team and the client requested that an immediate cleansing be conducted. Our team conducted a cleansing and there has been no further activity reported at this time. We will keep in touch with the client for further updates.
