| Overview: The ISIS team investigated a private residence in Cohoes, New York, after receiving complaints of unexplainable activity from the occupants. Initial complaints seemed to have started approximately two years ago, when the occupant became engaged and her fiancé moved in. Complaints consisted of the radio turning up by itself as a common occurrence, the feeling of being watched, and curtains moving by themselves with windows closed and no drafts as a cause. A team of four investigators, one male and three females set out to the location on April 24, 2005. We arrived at 6:00 pm and were greeted by the family of four: two adults and two small children. We immediately began our investigation and while Molly conducted the interview with the family, Patricia and Dayna took photos of the location. Meanwhile Matt performed EMF measurements, and later conducted evp samplings. The Case: The home contained 6 rooms: a living room, kitchen and pantry, a bathroom, two bedrooms, and a small attic area. The house did receive renovations about 20 years ago: the attic was worked on and an extension was added on to the house as well as a back porch. Other complaints revealed in the interview include creaking noises (which the occupant believes may be natural sounds from the house) and rustling noises in the attic. Cold spots have been felt in the living room and light bulbs burn out far too frequently. As far as the radio turning up by itself, it seems to happen only when classic rock is on the radio, it has occurred anywhere from five to twelve times, and it also happened as recently as April 22, 2005. On one occasion, the door to the entranceway of the location could be heard clicking open and then closed while the occupants were standing in the kitchen and the curtains have been seen blowing in the pantry as recently as last month. One of the children, a 4 year-old, has complained of chronic nightmares and has frequently refused to sleep in his bedroom. The child has also complained that he sees things in his bedroom window: sometimes he sees something floating in the window and sometimes he sees what he calls "bleeding cats". All complaints have been spaced out over a two year period and happen at the rate of a few times a month. One occupant, the adult female is a practicing solitary Wiccan and has interest in the paranormal, the occult and vampires. Interestingly, the 4 year-old child who resides at the location has a Native American grandmother who has told the occupants that he has the ability to talk to spirits. Other witnesses to the phenomena include a 31 year-old male and a 22 year-old female. Equipment Used: The ISIS team brought equipment to the investigation that included: 1 Sony Cybershot Digital Camera, 1 Kodak Easy Share Digital Camera, 2 Argus Zoom Lens 35 mm cameras, two rolls of 400 speed film (24 exposures each), 1 Radio Shack tape recorder with external microphone, 1 ninety minute audio cassette, 1 Panasonic Video Camera with a 90 minute VHS-C, one digital thermometer and Cellsensor EMF detector. Disclosure: The team experienced numerous difficulties with audio and video equipment at this location. When attempting to sample evps, the tape recorder initially refused to work, even after changing batteries. After some delay we managed to capture twelve evps, many of them with what sounds like the same male voice giving us numerous warnings to leave the location. The first evp that appears on the tape is the male evp stating harshly, "Turn it off", while other evps warned us: "I'm warning you, you're not going to like me," and "I think you should leave." Additionally, another evp, in various voices, states, "They think we're dead." Likewise, the video camera gave us similar difficulties. While setting up the camera, Matt captured an evp that said, "Go ahead, go ahead, turn the tape on!" as if mocking the investigators who were setting up the camera. Unfortunately, although the video camera was fully charged when we arrived, it failed to work completely and we got nothing on video tape at all. The photos from this particular investigation are quite revealing. We have captured a mist on the attic stairs. During the investigation, one of the investigators got dizzy at the top of the stairs and fell backwards into the door. When we analyzed the evidence, upon closer inspection, the photo revealed a partial apparition with a set of hands that are clearly visible. Additionally, photos of the outside of the location, taken from across the street, reveal a male face in the attic window. We have since advised the client of our findings and they desire to rid the home of the unexpected and unwanted visitors. We promised to do what we can to aid them, but also reminded them that because the origins of paranormal activity are unknown, unfortunately there are no guaranteed resolutions. UPDATE! The ISIS team returned to the location on May 9, 2005 to conduct a cleansing of the house at the request of the current occupants. Photos were taken during the investigation and a shadow figure and a mist were capture. According to the occupants, since the cleansing there has been no further activity and all is well.
