ISIS Paranormal Radio is a subdivision of ISIS Paranormal Investigations. ISIS Paranormal Radio is a live, Internet stream radio show that airs every Sunday at 6 PM ET. At an early age, I became extremely interested in the paranormal. I am an avid bibliophile, and I appreciate fiction and non-fiction works of all kinds. I am a huge fan of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, John Saul, Scott Cunningham, and Doreen Valiente, among many other fantastic writers. Anything considered paranormal fascinates me, and I continue to absorb myself with studies related to the paranormal field. My hopes create an interesting paradox for I hope that which is unexplainable is finally understood one day, but I also know that with understanding also comes the loss of the mysterious; what once had intrigued many people will become normal and commonplace.
In my spare time (which is very little), I like to read, write, and draw. I also like to headstone hunt with my husband Mark. Currently, I am a writer and I have both my A.A. and my B.A., having majored in English. Eventually, I plan to pursue my M.A and PhD. I am a Wiccan priestess in the Dragon Warriors of Isis, eclectic coven and the mother of five who loves both Wicca and the paranormal. I have had previous publications appear in Blood Moon Rising Magazine (Sapphire Publications, 2000 & 2001), Crescent Magazine (2003 & 2004), Threads Magazine (2002-2004),the Russell Sage Review (2005-2006), and The Journal for the Academic Study of Magic, Issue 5 (2009).
Patricia Gardner, Co-founder, and Co-director
I first became interested in the paranormal over thirty years ago. I was around fourteen years old when I had my first spirit encounter. Since that time, my experiences have led me to a broader study of the occult and the paranormal. I was drawn to the Goddess path at the age of eight, and have remained on the path ever since. I am Wiccan; I am the High Priestess of the Dragon Warriors of Isis, an eclectic coven, I have maintained an interest in demonology, and I have made it my life's work to figure out what is on the other side, the causes of paranormal activity, and how to assist people that experience activity. I firmly believe there are hauntings that can be classified as inhuman, and that people suffer terribly when such activity is encountered.
I will openly admit that I do not know everything about the paranormal and suggest that if anyone ever meets up with a person that claims to have all the answers, to steer clear of that individual. The paranormal is "beyond normal," and while I strive to understand it, how it happens, why it happens, and attempt to implement solutions, there are many things that remain unresolved and not clearly understood. My partner and I started a ghost research group so that we could learn what we can, while simultaneously sharing what we have learned with others. We look forward to assisting people, to helping them understand paranormal events, in as much as it is possible to understand their unique experiences.

Stephen Ellis is currently serving his fourth four-year term of office as a Referee for the Superior Court of California. He currently holds the following higher education degrees: B.A. – L.I.U.; M.A. – L.I.U. J.D. – Blackstone. Ellis has written columns for numerous newspapers including, without limitation, Daily News (L.A.) “One Teacher’s Voice”; Herald Tribune (L.A.) “The Ellis Commentary”; Daily Observer (L.A.) Just Ain’t So”. His articles have appeared in newspapers in California, New York, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Today, he joins us discuss his book “Explaining the Unexplained.”
Dr. Kirby Surprise received his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology in 2007 from the Institute for Integral Studies in San Francisco and his Masters in Advanced Psychodynamic and Transpersonal Studies from John F. Kennedy University. He worked for 14 years as a social worker in impoverished areas before returning to graduate school. Dr. Surprise received his license as a psychologist in 2009, and currently works in an advanced outpatient program for the state of California.
He is a professional communicator, having given workshops and lectures on his subject, and conducts psycho educational groups on a wide variety of subjects for the state of California. The inspiration for his writing comes from a lifelong interest in psychology, metaphysics, philosophy, history, science, and his work with his clients. His interest in Synchronicity stemmed from experiencing frequent and surprising SE, and needing a working understanding of the phenomena. The model of SE he teaches was a response by SE themselves to his asking “How does synchronicity work?”
He was born in Glen Cove Long Island. He grew up in Bethpage, New York, with his parents Gladys and Alfred, and his older brother Tom. Dr. Surprise met his wife Patricia while in college in New York. They have been married for 28 years and have two children, Vencenza and George. This afternoon, he joins the co-hosts of ISIS Paranormal Radio to discuss his new book, Synchronicity: The Art of Coincidence, Change, and Unlocking Your Mind.
Ursula Kalin – Medium, Founder of the Chicago Paranormal Research Institute
Ursula has always been connected spiritually. Growing up in a family with roots down in the Bayou, readers and candle burning for luck and money were not unusual. Ursula's mother and grandmother both have the gift of sight, although they may not admit it. Ursula did not embrace her gifts until later in life, when she allowed herself to open up spiritually and mentally. Once that happened, the flood gates opened.
Always interested in the paranormal, Ursula began experimenting with EVP's. It was at this time that she started noticing her abilities to communicate with the spirits. No matter what device she used (digital recorder, tape or computer) she was receiving very clear messages. She began experimenting with ghost boxes (radio transmitters that sweep the airwaves) and once again she was getting uncanny messages from beyond. However, these were intelligent responses that referred to her by name and often mentioned her children's names. Her senses began to develop where she began to smell and feel the presence of spirits. As her senses improved, so did her sight. Yes, she was now vividly seeing spirits to point where she could describe their gender, features and clothing.
Ursula suddenly was being contacted from individual all over the globe who were drawn to her because of her gift. They convinced her that she needs to embrace her gift and help others pursue the light. Through a chance meeting over the net, Ursula was introduced to Frank Sumption, creator of the "Frank's Box". He sent one to Ursula because he said he had been hearing her name for year's on the boxes and thought she was supposed to have one. Since that time, he and Ursula have become long distance friends and he has shared a few more boxes with her. Ursula is now using the boxes and meditation to communicate with spirits that are looking to crossover into the light.
So a new chapter has begun, Ursula has encountered a number of individuals who have been drawn to her for advice and counseling. While she was not ready to embrace the inevitable, she now believes she can help many. She was convinced of this when she began uncovering details of individual encounters that she had no prior knowledge. She had never met these people and began telling them about things that were going on in their lives.
Ursula is dedicated to helping the living and the deceased. She lives with her loving supporting family in the Chicago Western suburbs.
