Documentary film directors Justin Blair and Matthew Vincent will be joining us tonight to discuss the creation of their independent film Across the Forest: Tales from Transylvania. The film is a documentary on the Romanian strigoi, ghosts, and forest spirits. Justin and Matthew are American film makers that traveled to Romania to create their latest production to interview the local people and to collect and compile the legends and lore of the people related to vampires and supernatural happenings.

Matthew Vincent and Justin Blair traveled to the west of the Carpathian Mountains in Romania to find out about Romanian supernatural beliefs. While the team was aware of the eerie reputation of Transylvania attributed to Bram Stoker and Dracula, they found the lore of the region much more exciting. The film makers documented stories about the strigoi, a creature with similar characteristics to the vampire, but also having characteristics similar to ghosts. The film examines countless strigoi reports, reports of strange abductions, reports on pricolici (a weredog), and more. After returning from Transylvania where the film was shot, the team faced more than forty hours of footage that required translation.

Brian Allan is a lifelong researcher into the mysteries and contradictions posed by paranormal phenomena and has devoted his life to seeking answers to some of these anomalies. This has involved him in a series of ‘hands on’ investigations encompassing everything from poltergeist infestations, hauntings and spirit possession to claims of alien abduction. From this solid groundwork he has developed a reputation as a speaker and presenter at various conferences across the length and breadth of the United Kingdom. This in turn developed into Brian acting as an adviser and participant in various international TV and radio broadcasts involving almost all aspects of the paranormal.

Following years of active investigations, which allowed truly amazing glimpses and encounters with things normally hidden from view, Brian began specialising in the esoteric aspects of Rosslyn Chapel and in 2005, along with a small, hand selected team, he was permitted to test some of his theories involving specific sonic frequencies within its enigmatic structure. This in turn lead to the discovery of a area inside the Chapel which Brian is convinced is a still active ‘portal’ leading to what may be a store of forbidden knowledge. Unfortunately, for various reasons he has been unable to continue with this project although this situation may change in the future.

Never one to rest on his laurels, Brian decided to commit some his cases and the fascinating research that they required to paper in a series of books, six so far, in order to share his discoveries and theories with others who have similar interests. Much of what Brian writes about reveals that there are a number of fundamental and immutable truths governing the nature of what we perceive around us and that we live in a multiverse inhabited by beings utterly unlike the human race. In Brian’s books we also discover that magic is a technology like any other and that quantum physics may hold the secrets to this most arcane of subjects.

In his latest book, The Heretics: Past and Present Brian reveals that those deemed as ‘damned’ or castigated as ‘heretics’ both spiritually and otherwise are often those who merely chose to follow a different path to that of convention. He also shows that the power behind magic is absolutely neutral, the categories of magic, be they ‘black’ or ‘white’, depends entirely on those who wield it.

Giorgio A. Tsoukalos has been the Director of Erich von Däniken’s Center for Ancient Astronaut Research (A.A.S. R.A. - Archaeology, Astronautics, and SETI Research Association) for the past decade. Tsoukalos has often been described as a genuine Indiana Jones looking to alter the world’s perceptions about Ancient Astronaut Theory. Giorgio is also the well-known Publisher of the Legendary Times Magazine: a research journal totally dedicated to Ancient Astronaut Theory.

Nicole Bray is the founder of the West Michigan Ghost Hunters Society, and she has maintained an interest in the paranormal since a very early age. Nicole grew up in a home where the former owner of the home committed suicide, and she began to research the phenomena that occurred around her on a daily basis. Eventually, her passion for the paranormal led her to start one of the most well-known paranormal investigation teams in the state of Michigan. She has co-authored Michigan’s Haunted Nightlife and Paranormal Lansing with Reverend Robert DuShane, published by Schiffer Books. Robert is the founder of WPARanromal Inc., a Michigan non profit, clergy led Paranormal Investigation team based in Southwest Michigan.

George P, Hansen was a professional parapsychologist for a period of eight years, three of which he was employed by the Rhine Research Center in Durham, North Carolina, and the remaining five years where he was employed by the Psychophysical Research Laboratories in Princeton, New Jersey. Hansen’s experimentation included experiments with card guessing, remote viewing, ganzfeld, electronic random number generators, séance phenomena and ghosts. Hansen has been active in several UFO, psychic, and New Age organizations and he also help establish a skeptics group.

Hansen has been published in a number of scientific journals and his papers focus on mathematical statistics, deception and fraud, the skeptics movement, exposes of hoaxes, and conjurers in parapsychology. Hansen is further a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, and the author of Ghost and Liminality as well as the book The Trickster and the Paranormal. The latter book examines why UFOs and parapsychology are shunned by conventional science; how literary criticism and anthropology apply to the paranormal; why mystical practices and psychic phenomena are associated with one another; and why tabloids choose to put paranormal issues as features on their front page.

Linda Moffitt has always maintained a deep interest in the paranormal and in history. She has lived in and explored the history of many different states. Linda currently lives with her husband, son and daughter in Washington State. She enjoys visiting historical sites and spending time with her family when she is not writing. Jesse Marcel Jr. was born in Houston Texas, on August 30th 1936. He is an officer that retired from the military and who once served in the United States Navy as a medical officer. Marcel joined the Navy in 1962 which allowed him to participate in the Cuban Missile Crisis when he served onboard a troop transport ship. Before entering the Navy, Marcel pursued an education at Louisiana State University, School of Medicine and graduated in 1961. During his time in the Navy he was trained in Otolaryngology, and later opened his own medical practice in Helena, Montana in the year 1971. Marcel later joined the Montana National Guard as a medical officer, and also earned his Flight Surgeon Wings at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. While in the National Guard, Marcel was appointed State Surgeon of Montana.

After his retirement, Marcel was called back to active duty in 2004 because of the Iraqi war. At 69, he spent a 13 month period as a flight surgeon for the 189th Helicopter Battalion in Iraq. Presently, Marcel works as an Otolaryngology specialist at the VA Hospital at Ft. Harrison, Montana and he and his wife reside in Helena. Jesse Marcel Jr. is the author of The Roswell Legacy, a book that focuses on the life of Marcel's father, the first military officer that arrived on the famed Roswell crash site in 1947. Jesse Marcel Jr. finally breaks decades of silence and reveals the true details about the crash and about his father's experiences.

Stephan Martin is an astronomer, educator, and author who has taught astronomy and physics at colleges and educational centers across the United States for more than 20 years. A specialist in extragalactic astronomy and the study of dark matter, his research and writing currently focus on the transformative potential of the insights of modern science and their integration into personal experience and everyday life. He is presently an Assistant Professor of Astronomy at Bristol Community College in southeastern Massachusetts; he graduated honors from Colgate University, and he earned his M.S. in physics and astronomy from the University of Wyoming. He has worked for the Space Telescope Science Institute, and has been a supervisor of the Williams College observatory. He has published numerous articles, some of which have appeared in the Shaman’s Drum, The Bulletin of the American Astronomical Society, and The Focusing Connection. He presently resides in Westport, Massachusetts with his wife.

Tonight, Stephan will discuss his book Cosmic Conversations: Dialogues on the Nature of the Universe and the Search for Reality published by New Page Books. The text examines all important questions like: “Do time and space really exist;” “Can the universe be inside us, outside us, or both;” “Is the universe alive, conscious, and intelligent;” and “Where are we in the cosmic evolutionary picture?”

Carol Starr maintains a lifelong interest in the paranormal and her first encounter with the supernatural involved witnessing a full body apparition in her aunt’s old farm house when she was just seven years old. From that moment on, Carol maintained a curiosity in life after death. At the age of thirteen, Carol lost her father, and both or her sisters reported seeing him by their sides at different times after his passing.

Carol resided in a haunted home with her sisters and mother when she was thirteen and she remained in the home until her mid twenties. She sought out information on spirit communication. When she got older, she met up with Mark Sarro and the Chester County Paranormal Research Society. Now Carol visits historic destinations while investigating the paranormal and she relies on all of the latest ghost research techniques and equipment. Dr. Bob Curran was born and raised in County Down in Northern Ireland. He left school at the age of 14 and took up a variety of different occupations including the job of a gravedigger, a lorry driver, a professional musician, a journalist, and a scripter of comics. He is well traveled, and settled down to work in a Civil Service position. Dr. Bob Curran later continued his education and received degrees in educational psychology, history, and education. He is presently a consultant to a variety of cultural bodies within the Province, and he manages cross-border matters with the Irish Republic while working for the Office of the First and Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland. He has authored a total of 38 books mainly on the subjects of culture and history. His works have been published in Italian, French, Portuguese, Japanese, Spanish, German, Latvian, and Urdu. He presently resides in the North Derry Coast of Northern Ireland with his wife and family. Beth Dolgner is a writer, an editor, and the author of Georgia Spirits and Specters. Over the past ten years, Dolgner has written about everything from motorcycle reviews to ghost stories through her work in journalism, public relations, and marketing. Beth has worked with the world’s top sports car racing series and teams, and she is closely involved in the motorcycle industry. She is an avid travelers and her book, Georgia Spirits and Specters is a collection of Georgia Ghost stories that she collected during her travels. The book is published by Schiffer Books. WNYParanormal is recognized as a non-profit corporation by New York State and the Internal Revenue Service. The group was formed as a resource for Western New York that would provide educational and investigative services for suspected paranormal activity limited to reports of ghosts, hauntings, poltergeist and life after death encounters. The group places special emphasis on darker, demonic hauntings.

Dwayne had his first demonic experience ten years ago, and now works to help others having similar experiences. Tonight he will be sharing with us some information with us about his investigative techniques, his experiences, encounters, and work. Tonight we will interview Marie D. Jones and Larry Flaxman on their newest work “The Resonance Key: Exploring the Link Between Vibration, Consciousness, and the Zero Point Grid.

Larry Flaxman has been actively involved in paranormal research and hands-on field investigation for over ten years, and melds his technical, scientific, and investigative backgrounds together for no-nonsense, scientifically objective explanations regarding a variety of anomalous phenomena. He is the President and Senior Researcher of ARPAST, the Arkansas Paranormal and Anomalous Studies Team, which he founded in February of 2007. Larry has authored several published articles regarding science and the paranormal and is a regular columnist for The Paranormal Awareness Society Newsletter. Currently, he is the co-author (with Marie D. Jones) of the upcoming books "11:11 - The Time Prompt Phenomena: The Meaning Behind Mysterious Signs, Sequences and Synchronicities," and "The Resonance Key:Exploring the Links Between Vibration, Consciousness and the Zero Point Grid" for New Page Books. He is also co-creator of an organization called ParaExplorers.com, an organization that is devoted to the exploration of ancient and modern unknown mysteries, and isdeveloping a line of related books and products.

In addition, Larry is co-creator of the popular new ParaTracker software program for documenting data from paranormal investigations. His own ARPAST online research database system, SOCIUS, is considered one of the most comprehensive in the field. Marie D. Jones, is a single mother to one son, Max, is a prolific author, and she currently lives in Northern San Diego County, California. Suzanne Taylor, of Mighty Companions, Inc., is a documentary film producer, and she is a member of an international community that includes farmers, artists, educators, geometers, philosophers, and scientists who are crop circle enthusiasts and experts. Tonight, she will be joining us to discuss her film, “What on Earth? ... Inside the Crop Circle Mystery. ”The film explores intriguing reports and offers intense discussions, all of which were filmed over a period of six summers and which offer the viewer an in-depth insider’s view of opinions and information about crop circles: a phenomena and subject that is radically misunderstood.

The filming of the documentary takes place in Europe and it is a film filled with provocative material that questions fundamental assumptions about who we are, and our purpose for being here. The film explores awe-inspiring, unbelievably intricate crop circles which have been showing up all over the planet for hundreds, if not thousands of years. The viewer gets to see Suzanne interact with “croppies,” as they go crop circle chasing, share discussions, theories, and their fascination with crop circles. You are presented with evidence that defies the notion that all crop circles are created by humans, and the potential motive of crop circle hoaxes is debated too. You are also introduced to some of the mathematical information encoded in the yet to be explained crop circle formations.

Renee Mallet grew up in Scotia, New York, and graduated from Scotia-Glenville High School before attending Emerson College, in Boston. She is currently living in southern New Hampshire with her family. Renee is the author of Manchester Ghosts, Fairies, Mermaids, and Other Mystical Creatures, and Ghosts of Portsmouth New Hampshire.
